Product Description |
| Microcrystalline Cellulose is partially depolymerised cellulose prepared by acid
hydrolysis of purified wood cellulose. It is designed primarily for pharmaceutical
solid dosage formulations.Its suitability for tableting operations is demonstrated
by the number and variety of functions. Among its many users are binder, filler, disintegrant, flow aid, lubricant and sugar coating additive. Chemicels main advantage is in the direct compression of tablets. its high chemical purity and physical properties improve on the conventional tableting process by simplifying it into three steps: weighing, mixing, and compression.
CHEMICEL's Microcrystalline Cellulose is a fine, white, odourless, tasteless crystalline powder. It consists of free-flowing, nonfibrous particles that are relatively free from both organic and inorganic contaminants. It is insoluble in water, organic solvents, and dilute acids , but partially soluble in dilute alkali. |
|
CHEMICEL's Features in tablet direct compression: |
| 1). Excellent compressibility 2). High dilution potential 3). Optimum range of particle size distribution 4). Low coefficient of friction 5). Good flowability 6). Fast Disintegration 7). Binder-Filler-disintegrant multiple function |
| TYPES We offer three types of CHEMICEL grades. |

| *CHEMICEL 101 is
commonly used for direct compressible tableting. It is also used in
wet granulation |
||||
| *CHEMICEL 102 has
identical compression properties of 101. Due to larger particle size (100
Micron). It is widely used for improving the flow fine powder. |
||||
| *CHEMICEL 103 is used for moisture sensitive drugs due to its low moisture content | ||||
| PROPERTIES | ||||
| The average properties of all grades of CHEMICEL are relatively similar except for particle size and moisture content | ||||

| APPLICATIONS | ||||
| *CHEMICEL
IS primarily designed for pharmaceutical solid dosage formulations. It
shows excellent binding, free flowing and compressibility capacity. It can be used in all methods of tableting, effectively used in direct compression method. |
||||
| *CHEMICEL
is used in verterinary pharmaceutical solid dosage formulations. Again
most effectively used in direct compression method. |
||||
| *CHEMICEL is used with formulation which are pre- compressed before encapsulation. | ||||
| *CHEMICEL spray dried micro crystalline cellulose offers the following advantages. | ||||
| ADVANTAGES |
FUNCTIONS |
| Chemical Purity | Non reactive organic ingredients. Low Level of inorganic + organic contaminants |
| Binder | High hardness level, low friability. |
| Disintegrant | Excellent compression and rapid disintegration. |
| Co-lubricant | Aid to dry lubrication |
| Free Flowing | Efficient dry blending of ingredients. Enables direct compression of many formulation. |
